# Voice & Writing

> How Renovaré sounds, plus the small writing mechanics that keep copy consistent.

*We write like a thoughtful friend.*

**Voice.**
Speak to the reader as “you.” Speak about the community as “we” / “us.” Use invitational language, not imperatives. Avoid clichés.

**Tone.**
Unhurried and gentle, with weathered hope and serious joy.

**Example.** “Get Renovaré Weekly Each Friday — Curated Christian wisdom + Renovaré updates.”

## Writing Rules

Small mechanics that keep copy consistent.

**Renovaré.**
Always write Renovaré with the accent. (On Mac press *option-e* then *e*.)

**Casing.**
Use Title Case for most headings without a period and for buttons.

**CMOS + A Few Renovaré Rules.**
Renovaré uses the **Chicago Manual of Style** (CMOS) as its default writing style guide, with a few custom rules for Scripture references and other particulars, as outlined in our Style Manual. If in doubt, ask Kim.
